Heads-Up Displays

Head-up displays are becoming increasingly integrated in the cockpit to enhance the pilot’s visual comfort and safety.

A pilot’s vision and concentration can be disturbed if visual information is badly displayed or overabundant, but the distraction caused can be hugely reduced by using efficient HUD systems.

Virtual prototypes help to improve and optimize the significant parameters which contribute to the efficiency of an HUD.

OPTIS software, powered by the proven SPEOS Technology, allows you to :

  • Measure and optimize the readability of information.
  • Model and optimize complete HUD system taking into account its optical properties and phenomena such as depth of field, focus and time adaptation to check and perfect the usability of the HUD in its final context.
  • Integrate other near- and far view objects, as well as exterior/ambient lighting into your simulation.
  • Optimize your choice of display colors for maximum visibility.
  • Visualize how your HUD will be perceived by the user.
